THIS IS A SECONDS PIN SET

This is a listing for flawed or imperfect enamel pins. The selection is dependent upon which designs have flawed units. Some flaws are more obvious than others, but all of these pins are still very wearable. Seconds Grades (B Grades) have been deemed less than "Standard Grade/A Grade" and may exhibit some of the following imperfections...

  • Discoloration on enamel
  • Discoloration on metal
  • Dull or unpolished enamel or metal
  • Under-filled enamel
  • Enamel staining on metal
  • Large scratches on enamel
  • Inaccurate artwork
  • Small areas of missing enamel
  • One post on the back of pins that normally have two posts
  • Missing metal lines
  • Overfilled enamel covering metal lines
  • Lint and dust on soft enamel
  • Scratches and small gouges on soft enamel
  • Incorrectly filled color areas

THE DETAILS

These beautiful Sandhill Cranes Enamel Pins feature two Sandhill Cranes, one facing left and the other facing right. These pins are around 2" from tip to tip and was my Patreon Award for June 2022. These hard enamel pins are set on a highly-polished gold-plated metal and each pin has two posts on the back. This listing is for both Sandhill Crane pins, so you will receive both with your purchase.

ABOUT THIS DESIGN
When I moved to Florida, I was awed by how easy it was to spot a sandhill crane or even its entire family. Growing up in Canada, the only sandhill crane I ever saw was at a zoo. I thought, at the time, that it was one of the most beautiful birds. So it was a funny juxtaposition to move to Florida and spot these beautiful creatures wandering across a parking lot. Folks around here would tell these cranes are so common you couldn't cast your eyes in any direction without getting a face full of sandhill crane. I still think they're beautiful and graceful, and dedicated June 2022 to majestic birds whether they're being spotted in a marsh or a ditch, haha!
