Narrow-Bordered Bee Hawkmoth (Hemaris tityus) Enamel Pin

This beautiful Narrow Bordered Bee Hawkmoth enamel pin features the fabulously beautiful bee hawk moth or Hemaris tityus. Narrow bordered bee hawk-moths are often mistaken for broad bordered bee hawk-moths because the two of them look so similar. These unique and beautiful moths have transparent wings and patterns on their bodies that mimic the appearance of a bee as a defense mechanism called batesian mimicry. Bee hawkmoths can be found in Europe, Mongolia and China.

This hard enamel pin is 2.0" from tip to tip and features a beautiful color palette of yellows, oranges and white on a polished black nickel base with transparent enamel used for the hawkmoth's uniquely transparent wings. This hard enamel pin is set on a highly-polished black nickel-plated metal and has two posts on the back.
